What is your Password?

If your answer is ‘password’, it could be worse: ‘123456’ maintained the ‘top spot’ in 2018 with the dubious accolade of ‘Worst Password of the Year’ according to SplashData.  

The popularity of the current occupant of the Oval Office is perhaps belied by the entry at #23 of ‘donald’, with the top 10 comprising:

2. password
3. 123456789
4. 12345678
5. 12345
6. 111111
7. 1234567
8. sunshine
9. querty
10. iloveyou

If any of these seem familiar, there may well be a 'Nigerian Prince' out there in need of your assistance! In any event, you should consider what personal data your passwords are there to protect, and whether your current security measures go far enough.

Experts maintain that the key is to use a combination of at least 12 upper and lowers case characters and symbols to create site-unique access codes.  A password manager could help with this.
